«DIGITAL STORYTELLING AT ITS BEST»

JURY, GERMAN EBOOK AWARD 2014

Carl Lutz, an Appenzell diplomat and second-in-command at the Swiss Embassy in Budapest, saved tens of thousands of persecuted Hungarian Jews from death during World War II.
His humanitarian action is considered the greatest civil rescue operation of Jews during the Holocaust.

DOCMINE produced a feature documentary about this almost forgotten story, which was directed by Daniel von Aarburg. This documentary had prime time airing on SRF, 3SAT and ORF and was also released for cinemas in a long version.

In addition to the broadcast of this documentary DOCMINE released a Videobook for tablets, which combined video sequences with interactive graphics and texts with in-depth information about Lutz‘ rescue action.

The videobook was awarded with the first German eBook award. Apple selected this videobook to «Best of App Store 2014».
